Tourist Development Council

Florida Statute requires a 9 member board made up of the following representatives:  One member of the County Commission, two members of the City Council, three representatives of hotel/motel/or other tourism accommodations, and three representatives of the community involved in the tourist industry or who have demonstrated a general interest in tourist development.

Current members are appointed for 2 or 4 year terms.  As terms expire, there will be opportunity for new qualifying members to serve.  The Tourist Development meeting are PUBLIC MEETINGS, so everyone has the right to attend and provide input.  Meeting dates are posted in the County Administration building bulletin boards and are listed on the County’s website at:  www.desotobocc.com as well as this website.
